The Complete Monitoring Solution
Introducing the allSPY monitoring system. This product is designed to connect to additional (external) sensors not usually included in the vehicle's ECU. Combine this system with one of our OBD2 units (TD5SPY or allSPY OBDII) and you can monitor both external sensor data and internal ECU data in one integrated application.
The allSPY
Don't just stop with the TD5SPY ... your TD5 deserves the very best. Fitting the allSPY is really simple and completes your monitoring solution.
This new little system is also bluetooth enabled and connects right up to the TD5SPY app alongside the TD5SPY. Install the additional sensors you want and its as simple as that.
Now you will be able to monitor the following (in addition to the ECU supplied data):
- Exhaust gas temp
- Engine oil temp
- Engine oil pressure
- Auto gearbox oil temp
- Transfer oil temp
- Oil Pressure and Gearbox temp switches
- Coolant level
If you like the look of the allSPY for another type of vehicle, then no problems. Just turn off the the TD5SPY connection in the app and your are left with the Additional Sensors screen only.

Inputs and Outputs
The allSPY provides for three sensing inputs and three open collector outputs. Two of the outputs also drive SPDT relays in parallel.
The inputs are used to monitor the following:
- coolant level detector
- oil pressure switch
- auto gearbox oil temp switch
The outputs (and associated relays) are currently used for switch emulation.
Many other functions, using the inputs and outputs, are envisaged for future implementation.
Switch Emulation
Being a clever little gadget, the allSPY makes installing some of the sensors even easier.
Instead of having to tee in the oil pressure switch alongside the oil pressure sensor and gearbox temp switch just leave them out.
Connect the removed switch wires to the allSPY and it will emulate these switches.
What's even better is that you can now control the level that these will switch at, as this is now synced to the alert level settings for Oil Pressure and Gearbox Oil Temp in the TD5SPY!
The switch emulation operates even if you are not connected via the app.
Coolant Low Detector
Some would argue that the most important item to monitor is your Coolant Level in the expansion tank.
Sudden loss of coolant, coupled with the fact that most vehicle temperature gauges are so heavily damped, basically ensures that the engine has overheated before the gauge even moves off centre! A new headgasket or head is the inevitable result.
Although the TD5SPY circumvents this by providing an early warning (and I can vouch for this), fitting the allSPY Coolant Level Sensor provides an immediate alarm and peace of mind.
Don't worry, you don't need to drill holes into your coolant reservoir, as our system is completely non-intrusive and detects the coolant level directly through the side of your coolant reservoir!
Just silicone it to the side our your reservoir and you're done.
Fit the warning buzzer to the allSPY and get alerted to coolant loss even if not connected via the app.
Installation
What is so great about the TD5SPY is that it is just plug and play. You're up and running in 5 minutes.
Although installing the allSPY is a bit more work, it's not that difficult. This is what I did with my TD5 Disco:
- Installed the latest version of the app V3.2.1 that suppoprts the allSPY integration (Android & iOS support).
- Used double sided tape to stick the allSPY unit to the flap under the dash. Fed all wires through the large grommet behind the brake master cylinder.
- Removed the front plate from exhaust manifold and fitted EGT probe with new adaptor plate.
- Siliconed the coolant level detector to the side of the expansion tank.
- Removed oil pressure switch and fitted oil pressure sensor with 1/8NPT to 10mm adaptor. Connect oil pressure switch lead to allSPY (emulate mode enabled).
- Fitted oil temp sensor to engine sump drain plug with adaptor M16x1.5 to 10mm
- Fitted gearbox oil temp sensor to gearbox sump filll plug with adaptor M16x1.5 to 10mm.
- Fitted transfer oil temp sensor to blanking plug on transfer box with adaptor M14.15 to 10mm.
- All done in a couple of hours!

Connection Diagrams
SEN1, SEN2, SEN3 inputs for temperature senders have internal 10K pullup resistors to match the standard allSPY temperature sensor. If necessary (to suite different sensors), these can be disabled by removing the associated jumpers and external pullup resistors can be fitted.
allSPY Settings
Firstly, enable the allSPY in the General Settings page.
The fitted sensors are easily configured in the allSPY Settings page. Simply match the sensors to their functions and that's basically it.
All installed sensors can also be configured to be displayed on the Cruise screen.
